Salcombe Estuary Combo Tour 29th May 3:00pm
29th May 2021 | 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm£70.00
This is by far the best way to explore the stunning scenery and biodiversity of the Kingsbridge to Salcombe estuary. Tide and weather dependent we will launch from the public slipway at the Quay Long Stay car park in Kingsbridge next to the leisure centre or the picturesque South Sands beach in Salcombe or Batson Quay at the Creeks Car park Salcombe. The paddle takes about 2.5 hours with a stop on a secluded beach for a picnic cream tea and a swim. On the way you’ll explore the quiet creeks and beaches of the upper Estuary as well as the hustle and bustle of Salcombe harbour, and the world-famous golden sands of Portlemouth. You’ll spot wildlife such as seals, herons, egrets, oyster catchers, curlews and shoals of bass and mullet and if you’re lucky a seal!
Wherever you paddle ends, all your dry gear will be waiting for you. Your walking guide will then lead you back to Kingsbridge or Salcombe along the estuary footpaths and Devon lanes, stopping at all the best spots to view the estuary in all it’s splendour. The walk back will take about one and half to two hours including a stop for refreshments.
Prices include all equipment – Red Paddle touring board, carbon paddle, buoyancy aid, leash and all refreshments as well as a SUP guide and walking guide. Please turn up in your wet gear ready to paddle and have your walking gear ready so we can arrange for it to be waiting for you at the end of the SUP tour.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can get you kitted up.
